Wild Camping by Motorhome

www.motorhomesdirect.co.uk I just read in The Sunday Times that 2010 is predicted to have a craze sweeping the UK and Europe for wild camping. Wild camping doesnt have to be particularly wild. If you are picturing a Millets 2 man tent flapping around in the wind on the side of Ben Nevis then this is not what we had in mind at all. Wild camping by motorhome simply means you are not on a site and not connected to an electricity supply. When wild camping by motorhome you can run your fridge on gas, your lights and music on the 12V leisure battery and your heating on gas. So it is still pretty luxurious. My wild camping experience is fairly limited, friends driveways, ferry terminals, hypermarket car parks (check for height barriers!), motorway service areas and pub car parks. However I really enjoyed travelling from Bilbao to the Costa del Azahar in Spain some years back and just staying anywhere we could, quite often we would find a small town and then there would be a reasonable car park near to the park or recreational area of the town. We managed to get as far as Leida before we had to give in and stay at a campsite, to do the toilet servicing and make use of the sites shower block. So if you fancy a walk on the wild side then do consider wild camping with a motorhome. In all fairness we would prefer you to stay on site for security reasons, but we wont stop you having some wild fun. Just dont be daft, dont camp in areas that are clearly not as crime free as you would ...

Coolers and Fridges Can Make Camping Great!

It's nice to go camping. You get to leave the urban world behind and get in touch with nature. If you are going to a camping trip it is best that you bring coolers and fridges along with you. Bring as much food and drinks as possible. Make sure that you bring lots of things from the basic food groups. The best way to camp is when you have good food along with you.

The best way to start your day in the wild is with a good meal. Being able to eat the food you like will get you ready for the whole day. You will be energized and excited. It's nice to have food ready in your coolers and fridges.

When you're packing in good food, it's nice to have a variety of coolers and fridges which you could use store different types of food in. Figure out what do you need and base the coolers and fridges that you'll get from your necessity. Some relevant questions could be how long will you store food in your coolers? How cool do you need your food to be?

If you have access to public electricity or even just a car battery, a compressor refrigerator is good for you. But if you only have access to gas then you should get an absorption refrigerator which runs on fuel. It's comforting to know that you have coolers and fridges with you. If you're out to enjoy the great outdoors make sure you'll make the most out of it.

If you're packing in ice for a trip, even for just a day, you should get a well insulated cooler. You can be sure that your ice will not melt if kept in the right type of coolers and fridges. A camping cooler that you could fasten tight with a regulator tube to release water is the best cooler for this situation. When you have filled it with ice, put it out of the sun to maintain the temperature inside.

When you pack food inside coolers and fridges, remember to seal the lid very well. Secured lids do not attract animals because the food aroma is kept inside. Even if animals do arrive, they won't be able to open the coolers and ruin all the food inside. Make sure that you will not go hungry just because you forgot to secure the lid of you cooler.

It is also a good idea to use a separate cooler for each day that you'll spend at camp. You only need to open the cooler that you need for the particular day. This way the freshness of the food you brought with you could be preserved more because you have maintained the temperature inside the coolers and fridges that you will use.

Camping is truly a great experience and it's nice when you have some coolers and fridges that can ensure you have good food along with you. There's nothing like celebrating life in the wild outdoors. Enjoy nature and enjoy life.

Make Sure That Your Next Camping Trip Is Fun

Camping is a great American tradition. It has long been the go to impromptu family vacation. It is relatively inexpensive once the initial equipment has been purchased and a camping vacation can be taken almost anywhere.

It is not necessary to make reservations months in advance to go on a camping trip. Often times, a camping trip can be completely spur of the moment. A family can decide they would like to go camping in the morning and be setting up their camp site later that evening. Even though camping in and of itself is fun, there are a few things that can be done to insure that the next camping trip is a great one.

Always call ahead to the campground to reserve a spot. It is possible to get a campsite in most campgrounds at the last minute, but on weekends this will rarely be the ideal spot. By calling ahead campers can insure that their campsite is clean, level, and close to any amenities the campsite might offer.

Many camp site offer family and late night camping areas. It is best that a camper chooses a camping area that meets their needs beforehand rather than just taking what is available when they arrive.

Prepack. Packing is often the most stressful part of a vacation. Eliminate the need to scurry around looking for equipment by keeping all your camping equipment in one central location. This makes it easy to pack and go quickly. The only things campers have to be concerned with are their toiletries and clothes. By the time they gather those together everything else is already packed and ready to go. By keeping all equipment in a central location there is less chance that something important (like a stove or bugspray) will be forgotten.

Plan out meals beforehand. Buying groceries at a camp store is often much more expensive than buying at a grocery store. The selection is also very limited. If a camper wants to eat something other than hot dogs on a stick, it is important that meals are planned out in advance and a detailed list has been made. There is no easily accessible cupboard or fridge available in the woods. If ingredients are not brought to the campsite, it is very difficult and expensive to pick them up later.

Check the weather before leaving. Camping in the rain is a miserable experience, especially during the summer. Being hot and stuck in a tent for an entire weekend is no fun. Make sure the weather will be appropriate for outdoor activities. If it is not, cancel and go another weekend.

Keeping these simple tips in mind, there is no doubt that any camping trip can be fun and memorable.

Camping Catering Tips - Top Tourist Parks - Campertrailer Australia

Anthony McDonald from Red Desert Tours & Catering is giving holiday makers some tips on the best fridge to use when camping and the correct food to pack into a fridge and what to buy. Anthony recommends using a compressor fridge/freezer that fits well in vehicles or boats and can also be charged by the vehicle. Another suggestion when cooking food is using a light weighted aluminium bakers tray, and purchasing a brulee gun is handy in windy conditions to light barbeques or starting a camp fire.

Have You Experienced Camping Vacation Yet?

A fantastic alternative to roughing it while camping is to rent or purchase one of the many models of camping trailers available in the marketplace. Camping trailers can range from a hard-top tent trailer that requires some set-up and will easily pull behind even a small sized automobile through to a bigger, all-in-one unit that's literally a house faraway from house on wheels. Each kind of camping trailer has good and bad points to ownership, but 1 of the biggest reasons with any type of trailer will be the cost.

The pop-up or fold down tent trailer is a much less costly alternative for campers that will be camping in established camp sites or a minimum of in locations exactly where there is access by road. These camping trailers have an aluminum and steel or fiberglass and steel bottom having a lid or top that securely fastens while the trailer is becoming stored or moved. The trailer lid or top is raised through a crank mechanism to its full height of about eight feet over the bed area of the trailer. You will see two or 3 bunks or sleeping platforms that then fold out, giving the look off a tent. These areas are generally large sufficient to comfortably hold two adults each and are more or less the size of a very big double bed. There might also be extensions that might be utilized to provide more sleeping and relaxing space.

Most models of the camping trailer will also incorporates permanent storage cupboards within the bed area. These are perfect for storing utensils, supplies and even clothing. In numerous models, small fridges and freezers, sinks, countertops and even cooking surfaces are built in to provide all the convenience of house. The central area has a collapsible table and a bench-like arrangement providing a great deal of seating. The newer models of tent trailers might also be wired for power and can effortlessly be hooked to a generator for the full conveniences of home.

The more deluxe versions of a camping trailer are the fifth-wheel trailer and also the travel trailer. These are completely rigid body trailers that are extremely comparable to a small apartment that's rectangular in shape and comprises of all of the comforts of house. Most fifth-wheel and travel-camping trailers have showers, indoor toilet facilities, separate sleeping locations as well as a full, apartment sized kitchen region. Many of these trailers have a source in the style of the unit and there might even be choices for tv sets, entertainment units and even wireless web connections.

Selecting the proper camping trailer does require some believed and consideration, also as some attention to your budget and spending requirements. Each types of trailers are fairly durable and will final for numerous years with proper care and upkeep. Storage for the smaller tent style camping trailers is simpler for the majority individuals than endeavoring to retailer the big fifth-wheel trailers and travel trailers. Spend some time searching around or even consider renting some various camping trailers to attempt out before you determine on the model and brand that is correct for you personally and your family.
