Solar cooking food in jars to put in solar ovens

This is a video showing how you can cook foods in canning or other glass jars that have been painted black with NON TOXIC flat black craft or barbque paint that you will be putting in your solar oven. First, wash and dry jars to be used. Put a piece of tape from top to bottom on the outside of the jar. Then, proceed to paint the jars well on the OUTSIDE, making sure the lids on ON the jars so the paint NEVER gets inside the jars while painting. Let these sit out in the sun for several days to get the smell to gas off, then, you are ready to cook! Always be sure your solar oven is level before putting your jars of food inside to prevent spills. Always put your jars on racks in the oven so heat will circulate under the jars for faster more even cooking. When cooking veggies, put VERY LITTLE TO NO WATER in the jars. Just a little will get them steamed nicely. When cooking beans or rice, realize they WILL expand when cooking, so be sure to only put about 1/3 full of rice or beans and the rest fill with water, but not all the way up to the top, just about 1/2 inch from the top. Sometimes its best to presoak beans overnight cause some are old when you buy them and they can be hard to cook even when cooking in the house, the same with rice. The great thing about cooking in jars is you can take out what you want, then simply close up the lid, and put leftovers in the fridge for later!
